Runescape News, Fordham Student Allegedly Robbed of Game Currency
The NYPost is reporting that 19-year old Humza Bajwa has been arrested and charged with second degree robbery following the alleged robbery of 4.7 RuneScape coins from Fordham University student David Emami.
According to Emami, Humza originally attempted to purchase the currency with cash. But once Emami realized the cash was actually counterfeit, Humza put a BB gun with the appearance of a real gun at his head and demanded that middleman Jonathan Dokler, who was monitoring the deal by phone, transfer the currency to his account.
The 4.7 billion coins are worth around $3,000 USD on the RMT market. If convicted, Bajwa faces up to 15 years in prison.
