Vindictus Vella: Inside Look
Vella is the sixth and newest playable character in Vindictus. In Vella's first appearance in the Korean's teaser trailer, she was facing the Gnoll king. The Gnoll king hurled one of his dual axes at Vella. As it twirled towards her in slow motion, Vella moved her swords behind the direction she's facing then leaped in the air while slashing her swords towards the axe to deflect it back to the Gnoll King.
Not much was known about Vella's combat capabilities until the release of second teaser trailer. Her swift attacks in combat and particular way of dodging make it seem like she is the female counter part of the Lann. However, a Vella is much more than that. While it's true she has the agility of a Lann, her other functions in battle allows Vella to play as a tactician as well, thus giving her the feel of a Fiona.
Vella is a swift attacker and an adaptive warrior that is balanced in both offensive as well as defensive skills. Her offensive skills allow her to leap straight into battle, with her agile strikes and extended range, she can take out mobs with ease. A couple of her attacks have nearly the same range of the Lann's 1,000 needle smash attack. If she fights a tough adversary who is able to withstand her swift strikes, she is able to counter attack when the enemy attempts to fight back. Thus, this almost makes Vella a non-stop attacking machine. Whenever a Vella feels the need to retreat from battle or chase a foe from afar she can escape being surrounded without being inflicted any damage. Another interesting feature is that Vella can actually damage enemies as she escapes. As described earlier, a Vella can reflect projectiles back at opponents without fail, rendering ranged mobs and bosses dramatically crippled.
