The Basic Information about Hunter
LOTRO Gold is used to arm your hunter better.
Three most basic focus building attacks of hunter are Barbed Arrow, Quick Shot and Swift Bow or Improved Swift Bow. Blindside is a nice melee attack that also gains a Hunter three focus. These enable Penetrating Shot, a solid single target attack that requires three focuses and has a short cool down, Rain of Arrows, an AOE attack and Merciful Shot or Improved Merciful Shot which consumes six focuses, but does heavy damage to a foe with less than half morale.
Use the skill Focus before every battle that fills your focus meter to full, but can only be used out of combat and Intent Concentration when you are in a tough spot and need focus quickly.
For the ultimate in DPS, there is Heart Seeker, a skill with a long induction time and cool down that does more damage to a single target than any other skill in the game, though it neither adds nor consumes focus. And Needful Haste boosts attack speed of a hunter, increasing DPS.
Just as important to the focus meter of a hunter is which stance is used. Hunters have four stances to choose from, each with its own benefits. Precision of Strength and Stance is offensive stances, which increase damage and accuracy, respectively, while Endurance lowers both power cost and threat, which is used almost exclusively in long boss battles. Fleet comes in handy if the Hunter has to be on the move.
A Hunter also enjoys a wide array of secondary skills, including the most useful set of skills to any fellowship on the move. The Guide skills of Hunter, such as Guide to Brae and Guide to R, transport the entire fellowship to the specified location for the cost of just a few traveling rations, saving hours on travel time through the course of play.
Not all such skills are gained from class trainers; a few, such as Guide to E and Guide to OG, must be obtained through a few simple quests from NPC at the specified locations.
