Metin2:Gems and Socketing Guide
I decided to start a Metin2 guide about gem conversion and socketing. If you are interested in the guide, please read it up.Hope it is useful to you.
First, before any jewelry can be upgraded by gems, you need to add sockets to the item. Diamonds are needed to do this. All ore that is mined can be brought to any forge in the Metin world. However, it behooves you to use the forge for which it is intended.
Example: Bring all your Diamond Ore to a Diamond Forge. The chance for success is 60% vs. only 30% if you try at another forge. The same goes for any other ore conversion.
Now that being said, it takes 100 diamond ore to make 1 Diamond. The ore and money to pay the alchemist is all you need. Once you have diamonds, simply click and drag on top of the jewelry you wish to socket. As in all things, there is a chance for failure. You are allowed to add 3 sockets to each item.
Secondly, the gems, each item needs a gem that relates to its type. Example: Ebony earrings will only accept Agate ore or a HT bracelet will only accept HT agates. In order to convert ore to gems, you will need 100 ore, gold to pay the alchemist (depending on whether or not you guild owns a forge, this will run from 2,500 to 3,000 gold per attempt) and u will need 1 Spirit Stone. Please Note: the alchemist will ask for either a +0, +1 or +2 Spirit Stone. My suggestion is, keep all your junk stones when making gems. Nobody wants a +0 magic or +0 dodge stone.
Once you have created the gem, you can attempt to attach it to one of the sockets. Again, this can fail. However, I have found that in adding sockets and gems, the first 2 slots have a high success ratio. The tough socket to fill seems to be the 3rd one.
